Site and grape varieties
The Erlenbach site Krähenschnabel is located on lower Muschelkalk. For the site, Ehrenfelser, Grauer Burgunder, Silvaner, Spätburgunder, Riesling, Weißburgunder, Dornfelder and Scheurebe are documented. The local winegrowing association names Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau and Domina as important grape varieties for wines from Krähenschnabel and also documents Grauer Burgunder.
Development and cultivation
Krähenschnabel was part of the early Bavarian land consolidation projects in winegrowing, which began in 1953. In 1970, seven former single vineyard sites were combined under the name Krähenschnabel. Around 50 percent of the area is farmed with modern viticulture techniques; this also includes commissioned work in plant protection and soil care.
