Origin and history
The Domaine Ramonet is based at 4 Place des Noyers in Chassagne-Montrachet in Burgundy, France. Pierre Ramonet founded the winery in the late 1920s. Today it is run in the third generation by his grandsons Noël Ramonet and Jean-Claude Ramonet.
Vineyard holdings and cultivation
The roughly 17 hectares of vineyards are spread across Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Bouzeron and Pernand-Vergelesses. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown. Cultivation includes measured crop protection, tillage and controlled yields; the harvest is carried out by hand.
Wines
The Domaine Ramonet produces white and red wines, including Village and Premier-Cru wines from Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy wines, as well as wines from several Grand-Cru appellations. Production consists of 70 per cent white wine and 30 per cent red wine.
Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet
The Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet of the Domaine Ramonet is a white wine from the Grand-Cru appellation and is classified as an Appellation d’Origine Protégée. The associated plot is oriented to the east and south and has brown limestone and clay soils. The wines are vinified traditionally and, depending on the appellation, matured in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months.
