Champagne Moussé FILS

Origin and History

Champagne Moussé Fils is based in Cuisles in the Marne Valley of Champagne in France. The Moussé family has been involved in viticulture since 1629 and has been based in Cuisles since 1880. The first bottled Champagne was produced in 1923, with commercial sales beginning in 1926. Winemaking takes place across four generations.

Work in the Vineyard

As part of an ecological conversion, the estate covers its vineyards with grass. Synthetic pesticides have not been used since 2014.

Les Vignes de mon Village

Les Vignes de mon Village is a Blanc de Meunier made from 100 per cent Meunier and comes exclusively from Cuisles. The vines grow in green clay over calcareous marl. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented malolactically, and micro-vinified in small stainless-steel containers. The wine is then matured on the lees under cork and stored for about 20 months before release. The Champagne is bottled as Brut Nature with 0 g/l added sugar at dosage.

Further Cuvées

Anecdote is a Blanc de Blancs made from Chardonnay and is linked to the plots Les Varosses and Les Terres Rouges. L’Or d’Eugène is a Blanc de Noirs based on a Perpetual-Reserve cuvée with 80 per cent Meunier and 20 per cent Pinot Noir. L’Extra Or Dégorgement Tardif is the late disgorged version of this and matures for 48 months on the lees before being bottled as Brut Nature.
