Location and History
Champagne Georges Rémy has its headquarters in Bouzy in Champagne, France, in the Montagne de Reims. The vineyard plots extend over Bouzy, Tauxières, Ambonnay and Louvois. The Rémy family has demonstrably been growing grapes in Bouzy since 1629; Georges Rémy began commercial champagne production in 2014.
Viticulture
The winery is working towards biological certification; the first certified organic harvest is documented for 2018. Farming takes into account soil and vine life and is described as organic; in addition, biodynamic practices are documented. As certified grape varieties, Pinot Noir is listed for approximately 4.30 hectares and Chardonnay for one hectare.
Wines
The range includes champagne and Coteaux Champenois, including still red wines from Bouzy. The champagnes are bottled with little or no dosage. The documented vintage 2021 Les Quatre Terroirs No. 21 is classified as a Premier Cru Brut Nature from Pinot Noir with 13% vol.
Cellar Work
The champagnes are vinified parcel by parcel and matured for about ten months in barrels on fine lees. The Coteaux Champenois mature for about 15 to 20 months; additionally, a long bottle ageing period is documented.
