History

Winegrowing in Tiefenbach has been documented as early as 1122. Wines from the Tiefenbacher Spiegelberg were in demand in the Middle Ages.

Cultivation and Wine

The plots are cultivated individually. The grapes are hand-harvested in several passes and then sorted at the winery. A documented wine from the site is the Tiefenbacher Spiegelberg Grauburgunder as VDP.GROSSES GEWÄCHS®. The grapes can remain on the must, chilled, for up to six days; Great growths from Pinot varieties ripen in large and small wooden barrels, including barriques.
