Location and Wine-Growing Region
The Schloßberg is a named wine-growing site in the municipality of Ingersheim in the wine-growing region of Württemberg. The municipality lists it as one of its established wine-growing areas.
Terraces and Soils
The site belongs to the terraced steep-slope viticulture of the Neckar valley landscape. Among the vineyards associated with the Ingersheimer Schloßberg are small terraces on steep slopes with a southerly to south-easterly aspect. One vineyard is documented on Muschelkalk soils.
Cultivation and Preservation
In 2016, a previously overgrown vineyard in the small site was leased by the municipality and restored for cultivation. Dry-stone walls shape the viticultural landscape; their maintenance is planned at the Ingersheimer Schloßberg as a conservation measure.
Grape Varieties Planted
A producer associated with the Ingersheimer Schloßberg reports on the cultivation of Weißburgunder, Lemberger, Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Trollinger, as well as smaller quantities of Muscateller.
