Location and Viticulture
The Kapuzinerbuck is a named hill and vineyard area in Wittnau in the region Baden. The vines are on the Kapuzinerbuck and slope down towards the church of Mariä Himmelfahrt. The hill belongs to the three distinctive elevations of Wittnau that are still used for viticulture.
Grape Varieties and Wine Styles
For wines from the Kapuzinerbuck, Müller-Thurgau, Gutedel, Spätburgunder, Weißburgunder, Chardonnay and Grauburgunder are documented. This includes dry white wines, dry white Kabinett wines and dry red wines.
Maturation
The Winterhalter winery processes its grapes on its own premises and allows wines and sparkling wines to mature in its own cellars. The range also includes wines from the Wittnauer Kapuzinerbuck.
