Bimbacher Schloßgarten

Location and classification

The Bimbacher Schloßgarten is a registered wine-growing site in the district of Bimbach of Prichsenstadt in Bavaria. The site belongs to the Franconian wine-growing region and to the Steigerwald Wine Panorama. Keuper is listed as the terroir.

History and wine law

In 2011, the Laufer family established a new vineyard in Bimbach and gave it the name Bimbacher Schlossgarten. The site is registered as a single vineyard; for wines with their designation, Prichsenstadt must be stated as the municipality.

Grape varieties and wines

The documented first planting included Silvaner, Weißburgunder, Chardonnay, Scheurebe and Riesling. The following are documented from these: dry Silvaner Kabinett, dry Scheurebe, gently off-dry Riesling, dry Weißburgunder, dry Chardonnay, as well as Silvaner sparkling wine b.A.

Vinification

A documented Chardonnay from the Bimbacher Schlossgarten matured for a longer time in wooden barrels. A documented Riesling was matured in stainless steel tanks.
