Weingut Scheuermann

Location and Management

The Weingut Scheuermann is located at Hauptstraße 115 in 67150 Niederkirchen in the Pfalz in Germany. Gabriel and Simon Scheuermann run the winery and are supported by their parents.

Vineyards and Soils

The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2012. In addition, the winery uses biodynamic working practices, including compost, preparations, and the alignment of applications with biodynamic rhythms. The focus is on observing soil, vines, and grapes, as well as maintaining balanced vineyards and biologically active soils. Documented soils are yellow and coloured sandstone as well as loess clay. The sites mentioned include Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad, Ruppertsberger Hoheburg, Friedelsheimer Rosengarten and Deidesheimer Mäushöhle.

Grape Varieties and Wines

The most important grape varieties include Chardonnay and Riesling. The published range also includes Pinot Noir, Weißburgunder and Grauburgunder. It includes dry wines, including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Rosé and red wine, as well as a Brut Nature sparkling wine Blanc et Noir.

Maturation and Origin

The winery describes its wines as products made from grapes with as little intervention as possible, expressing their origins individually. The maturation includes extended lees ageing in wood. In the cellar, intervention is avoided as much as possible; yeasts and bacteria are meant to carry out their work over time. The published wine list carries the organic control code DE-ÖKO-039 and identifies the wines as German agricultural products.
