Champagne Dauvergne in Bouzy
Champagne Dauvergne is located in Bouzy, France, in the Champagne. The vineyards are in the Montagne de Reims, with Bouzy being the most important origin community.
Family history and vineyards
Since 1703, the Dauvergne family has been growing vines and producing Champagne for four generations. The winery cultivates around 2.65 hectares in Grand Cru communities of the Montagne de Reims, mainly in Bouzy as well as in Louvois and Ambonnay.
Cuvées and grape varieties
The cuvées are presented under the names of Aurélien and Maxime Dauvergne, who have been involved in their production since 2001 and 2004 respectively. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are used. The range includes Brut, Extra-Brut, Rosé Brut and Blanc de Noirs, including wines designated as Grand Cru from Bouzy.
Selected style
The Aurélien Tradition cuvée is a Brut of about 80 % Pinot Noir and 20 % Chardonnay with at least 36 months on lees. Aurélien Évidence is an Extra-Brut made from the same combination of grape varieties and matures for at least 48 months in the cellar.
