Terroir and topography
The vineyard area near Miltenberg lies in a sheltered valley basin on the Main between the Odenwald and the Spessart. The Miltenberg section of the Steingrübler is characterised by intensive sunshine and steep terraces. The soils consist of weathered Bunter sandstone with varying proportions of clay.
Cultivation and grape varieties
The steep terraces require a high level of manual labour and allow only limited support from machinery. In the terrace parcels there, Pinot Noir and Riesling are planted.
