A map from 1840 records the site on the slope south of the Innerer and Äußerer Steinweg. In 1890, a high-yielding Trollinger vine from Stahlbühl was selected as a mother vine for propagation. Its offspring were rejected due to late ripening and, in further selection, replaced with vines that ripen earlier.
