Relief and soil
The south-facing slope has inclinations of 40 to 75 percent and lies at around 210 to 290 metres above sea level. Wine styles and regional classification
Dry red wines from Spätburgunder, Pinot Noir and Lemberger are documented, as well as dry or gently off-dry white and Blanc de Noir wines from Burgundian varieties. The regional geological description also links the Raumbach Schloßberg with Riesling aromas of peach, apricot and yellow apple, notes of herbs and violet, ripe acidity and a mineral character. The Nahe winegrowing region is characterised regionally by an early start to vegetation and, in general, low annual rainfall of around 500 millimetres.
