The Schloßberg belongs to the Burgsponheim vineyard sites, which are farmed by the Erbacher Hof winery. The regional strata of the Sponheim layers comprise alternating red clay and silt stones of the Upper Rotliegend. As a result, calcareous soils with a strongly reddish colouring have developed.
