Viticulture and wine
The vineyard landscape was reorganised through land consolidation, equipped with vineyard railways and divided by old and new walls. Former fallow areas on the stony slopes have been replanted with vines. Traditional viticulture shapes the Schloßberg in connection with Metternich Castle and the Carmelite Church above Beilstein.
For the Beilstein Schloßberg, Riesling is documented. A wine originating from it is described as a dry, still white Riesling quality wine from the Mosel; a local wine list identifies it as a hand-picked steep-slope wine from grey slate, with a fruity character and moderate acidity.
