Location and classification
Sätzler is a legally defined single-vineyard site in the Ortenau area of the wine-growing region Baden. The site extends across the municipalities of Baden-Baden and Sinzheim.
History
The name Sätzler has been documented in Sinzheim since the early 2000s as a recognised field name in viticulture. The regional wine production from Sinzheim was processed predominantly by neighbouring growers’ cooperatives; since 1988, there has been no independent cooperative in Sinzheim.
Cultivation and wine
Winery Alexander Laible cultivates plots in Sätzler and in the nearby Frühmessler in Sinzheim. A dry white wine made from the Riesling grape variety is also documented from Sätzler; it is produced by Weingut Angelika Vogel as Sinzheimer Sätzler.
