Location and cultivation
The Rosenkranzweg is documented as an individual wine-growing area designation in Östringen in the wine-growing region Baden. Selected plots are farmed by Weingut Honold.
Grape varieties and wine styles
Documented wines from the Rosenkranzweg are produced from Cabernet Jura, Sauvignon Blanc, Lemberger, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. These include dry red wines such as Cabernet Jura and Lemberger Spätlese, as well as dry white wines such as Sauvignon Blanc Fumé and a Fumé cuvée made from Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay.
Maturation and designation
A documented Cabernet Jura matured for 18 months in a 500-litre cask and then for nine months in used barriques. The winery describes its Rosenkranzweg wines as wines with a wine-growing area designation; its reserve wines are matured in barriques. The documented wines are marketed as German quality wine (Deutscher Qualitätswein), with Lemberger additionally as Spätlese.
