A Regent from the 2018 vintage was vinified dry and matured in used barriques.

Name and history

The name refers to an old pilgrimage route that is linked locally with travellers from the Rhineland towards Rome or to a pilgrimage destination in Mainz. As part of the consolidation of older vineyard names into five official vineyard site designations in the early 1970s, Pilgerweg was retained as one of those designations.
