Kestelberg in Weisenbach
Kestelberg is a named vineyard site in the municipality of Weisenbach in the wine-growing region of Baden in Germany.
Historical cultivation
In the post-war period, Kestelberg belonged to five vineyard areas that were cultivated within the municipal area of Weisenbach. In a later historical description, Kestelberg is mentioned as one of the formerly contiguous vineyard areas; at that time, Kapf was the only remaining contiguous vineyard area in Weisenbach.
Wine-law classification
Legally, Kestelberg is classified as a single vineyard site in Weisenbach and is assigned to the Ortenau area and the large vineyard area Schloss Rodeck. In 2013, certain parcels in the plot area Kapf were transferred from the registered single vineyard site Kestelberg to the newly designated single vineyard site Kapf; their affiliation with the large vineyard area Schloss Rodeck remained in place.
