Location and classification
Katergrube is a registered single vineyard of the Nahe and lies in the municipality as well as in the cadastral district Weinsheim. It belongs to the Nahetal district and to the Rosengarten grand cru. The official wine-growing site code is 511435.
Area and topography
In the 2024 vineyard directory, 65.5 hectares of planted vineyard area are listed for Katergrube. The wine-growing site is located predominantly on south-facing slopes with inclines of up to 50 per cent.
Soils and wines
Documented soil materials are loam, upper rotliegend sandstone, slate, lower rotliegend sandstone, gravelly loam and clay. From Katergrube, dry Chardonnay, delicately structured red wine from Dunkelfelder and dry Sauvignon Blanc have been documented.
