Gollenberg

Location and classification

Gollenberg is a legally registered single vineyard in the wine-growing region Pfalz and belongs to the Großlage Trappenberg. The vineyard site extends across the cadastral areas of Bellheim and Knittelsheim to the south of the two municipalities.

Relief and soils

Gollenberg is a hill in the area of Knittelsheim and lies at an altitude of about 134 metres. The soils are described as sandy loam and loam; their formation is attributed to loess deposits.

Area and viticulture

In the vineyard register 2024, 5.5 hectares of planted vineyard area are listed for Bellheim and 18.7 hectares for Knittelsheim. Together, the documented vineyard area totals 24.2 hectares. The single vineyard carries the vineyard site number 810903.

Historical use

An official notice of sale of land from 2011 describes a plot of land in Bellheim as “Auf dem Gollenberg” and classifies it as vineyard land.
