Location and View
Goldberg is a legally classified single-vineyard site in the Baden wine-growing region Baden, in the Kraichgau. It is associated with Bad Schönborn and its locality of Langenbrücken.
The vineyard lies raised above Bad Schönborn. A viewpoint is located at around 173 metres above sea level, while the upper area, at around 180 metres, reaches the highest point of the municipality. From there, the open view extends to the west over the Rhine plain as far as the Palatinate mountains.
Grape Variety and Wine
For the Langenbrückener Goldberg, Riesling is documented as being produced from this single-vineyard site classification. As a component of the soil, slate is stated, which gives rise to the name slate.
The documented Riesling is matured in a delicately off-dry style and has 11.5 per cent alcohol, 17 grams of residual sugar per litre and 6 grams of acidity per litre. Fermentation and ageing take place in stainless-steel tanks.
