Location and classification
Fuchsen is an officially listed single vineyard in the municipality and cadastral district of Laubenheim in the German wine-growing region Nahe. In the 2024 wine sites register, the site is assigned under number 510325 to the Nahetal area and the Grand Cru Schlosskapelle.
Climate
The lower Nahetal near Laubenheim has an average annual temperature of about 9.5 °C and an average annual rainfall of about 600 mm. The vineyards of Laubenheim are located in a mild climate on wind-protected slopes in the valley.
Area and use
The vineyard area under vine recorded for Fuchsen in the 2024 wine sites register amounts to 14.6 hectares. A field study from 2002 described the vineyard area in the study area Fuchsen-Laubenheim as being interspersed with bushes, meadows and arable land. A large part of the vine plots was not grassed; variably grassed rows occurred in some places, while fully grassed areas were rare.
Grape variety and wine
From Fuchsen, Riesling is documented in a Laubenheim-Fuchsen bottling. The proven wine from Weingut Enk is classified as a dry white Qualitätswein b.A.
