Location and Single Vineyard Site
Forstgrube is a named vineyard plot within the cadastral district of Illingen. Historical cadastral records also assign the plot to the cadastral district of Roßwag. Baden-Württemberg’s winegrowing ordinance lists Forstgrube as a single vineyard site and assigns it to Illingen and Roßwag.
Vineyard Areas
In an official land notice published in 2023, four vineyard areas are listed in the cadastral area of Illingen, plot Forstgrube, with the parcel numbers 6337, 6339, 6341 and 6370. Taken together, they cover 42.256 square metres.
Historical Evidence
The municipal archive catalogue of Illingen records a plan from 1955 with the title “Weinberge Illingen”, which includes the plot Forstgrube. The archive also documents applications for planting vines from the years 1955 to 1963.
