Dachsberg is the vineyard site Haberschlachter Dachsberg in Haberschlacht, a district of Brackenheim in the wine-growing region Württemberg. The site is located on sunny slopes. Brackenheim describes the wine-growing region as mild and hilly.
Soil and History
For wines from Haberschlachter Dachsberg, Keuper is documented as the soil type. A historical cadastral map from 1835 lists Dachsberg as a named Gewann (parcel) in Haberschlacht. Together with the vineyards on the Heuchelberg, the site provided wine to the historic Haberschlacht wine-pressing house.
Vine Cultivation and Cellar Work
For the grapes grown in Dachsberg, hand work during harvest is documented. For wines from the Dachsberg vineyards, a nature-oriented approach to cultivation, traditional cellar techniques, must fermentation, and the maturation of selected wines in classic wooden casks are also described.
Grape Varieties and Wine Styles
Documented wines from the site include Lemberger, Schwarzriesling, Trollinger and Riesling. These include a Lemberger Weißherbst Kabinett, a semi-dry Schwarzriesling Kabinett, as well as a Trollinger-Lemberger Cuvée.
