Location and classification
The registered vineyard site Bischofsberg is located in the municipality of Arnstein in the Main-Spessart district in Bavaria. It belongs to the wine-growing region Franken, to the Mittelmain area, and to the Großlage Roßtal.
Historical name
A local depiction refers to Bischofsberg as the former large vineyard near Arnstein. In local usage, the name was later shortened to Bischberg; the adjacent settlement became known as Bischbergsiedlung.
Documented wines
Under the designation Arnsteiner Bischofsberg, dry red quality wines from Regent and Cabernet Dorsa are documented. The 2021 vintage from Regent has 12.46 % alcohol, 5.4 g/l acidity and 3.2 g/l residual sugar. The 2022 vintage from Cabernet Dorsa contains 13.45 % alcohol, 5.0 g/l acidity and 2.3 g/l residual sugar.
