Location and classification
Bärental is a single vineyard site in Margetshöchheim in Franconia. The vineyard site lies near the Bärental viaduct of the high-speed rail line Hannover–Würzburg, on both sides of the south portal of the Eichelberg tunnel.
Terrain and soils
The vineyard plots are situated on the north slope of the Eichelberg. The soils are given as loess clay and clay. The area covers approximately two hectares.
Name and winegrowing
The name of the vineyard site is derived from the valley located northwest of Margetshöchheim. Bärental belongs to the Großlage of Ravensburg. The Scheuring winery is documented as producing white wines from Bärental.
