Location
Aspenberg is an officially registered wine-growing site in the eastern part of the municipal area of Oberndorf in the wine-growing region Nahe.
Viticulture
For wines from Aspenberg, Riesling is documented. The vines of a described wine were nearly 50 years old. The small-berried, thick-skinned grapes remained on the vine until the beginning of November.
Wine style and maturation
The documented wine is a dry Riesling with a mineral character and exotic fruit aromas. Before bottling, it matured for nine months on fine lees in wooden casks.
Historical classification
In the past, the Aspenberg wine-growing area belonged to a significantly larger local viticultural area. Today, the site is cultivated by an outside winery.
