Location and area

Wiesenfeld is a district of Karlstadt in the Main-Spessart district in Bavaria. The place is located on elevated ground between Karlstadt and Lohr. The district area of about 2,240 hectares includes the hamlets of Erlenbach and Rettersbach.

Forested surroundings and history

The settlement and the surrounding fields are surrounded by woodland. The municipality describes this landscape as an indication of historical formation through clearing. Wiesenfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1139.

In the official Bavarian vineyard directory, the site is listed as a vineyard site not subject to Großlage classification in the area of Middle Main of the specified growing region Franken.
