Location and landscape
Weiler near Monzingen is a municipality in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate. It lies in a side valley of the Nahe on the south-facing slope of the Hunsrück and is surrounded by vineyards and fields. The vineyards form a semicircular hillside landscape above the settlement.
The municipality is situated at an altitude of about 210 metres and covers an area of 5.87 square kilometres.

Weiler near Monzingen is a viticulture municipality in the Nahe growing region. Linked to the place are the vineyard sites Heiligenberg and Herrenzehntel. Historically, the vineyard names Nobel and Schlossberg are also recorded.
Soils and history
The historical wine-growing history is associated with melaphyr, slate, marl, gravel and sandstone along the Nahe. Archaeological finds near the mouth of the Etterbach, including sections of water conduits, paving, bones, coins and tiles, are considered indications of settlement in Roman times. According to the local history account, viticulture in Weiler near Monzingen also goes back to this period.
Historical traces of viticulture
The name of the vineyard site Herrenzehntel and Zehntenstraße (Tithes Road) recall earlier obligations to pay tithes. Historical descriptions also mention three former manorial estates with extensive wine cellars.
