Landscape and Geology
The Kochertal has been cut into the Upper Muschelkalk. Its wide floodplains contain deposited sediments. To the north and south of the valley floors of the Kocher and the Brettach lie about three to seven metres of loess and loess loam over the Unterkeuper and Gipskeuper. The reed sandstone forms the high plateau of the Sulmer Bergebene.
Winegrowing in Cleversulzbach
Cleversulzbach is documented as a winegrowing village. In the sheltered Sulzbachtal lies the vineyard site of Cleversulzbach. The historic field name „Zur Kelter“ shows that winegrowing was already taking place for the years 1523 and 1737. The single site Eberfürst is assigned to Cleversulzbach and Eberstadt and belongs to the Großlage Salzberg in the winegrowing region Württemberg.
