History and Cultivation
The name Altmannsdorf derives from the historical name Edelsmanndorf. A former Vogthof of the Ebrach monastery was demolished in 1977 due to structural damage; until 1772, an episcopal Würzburg sheep farm existed there. The vineyards are cultivated with moderate yields and nature-conscious methods. The wines are processed gently; red wines mature in traditional wooden casks or small barriques, Spätburgunder for twelve months in wood or barrique.
