Domaine Serge Dagueneau et Filles
The Domaine Serge Dagueneau et Filles is located in Saint-Andelain in the Loire, France. It was founded in the early 20th century by Léontine Dagueneau.
History and vineyards
In 2006, Florence and Valérie, the daughters of Serge Dagueneau, took over the Domaine. Valérie Dagueneau is listed as the current sole manager. The Pouilly-Fumé and Pouilly-sur-Loire vineyards lie on the slopes between Pouilly-sur-Loire and Saint-Andelain on “terres blanches”, the local name for Kimmeridgian marl.
Farming and wines
The Domaine is listed with the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) status and is in the process of converting to organic farming. The range includes dry, still white wines as well as still red and rosé wines.
Denominations of origin
Wines are produced under the designations AOC Pouilly-Fumé, AOC Pouilly-sur-Loire and IGP Côtes de la Charité. For the Côtes de la Charité, Pinot Noir, Pinot Beurot and Chardonnay are used. For the documented cuvée Clos des Chaudoux 2007, the grapes were hand-harvested and the wine was aged on the lees for 16 months.
