Wernleite is an officially registered vineyard site, assigned to the municipality of Gemünden a.Main and the district of Adelsberg in the Franconian wine-growing region. The site belongs to the Mittelmain wine-growing area.
Designation in Wine Law
In the Bavarian register of wine-growing sites, Wernleite is listed, within the Mittelmain area, as a site outside the designated large growing areas. The designation may be used as a geographical indication for quality wines and predicate wines. For this, at least 85 per cent of the grapes used must originate from the specified geographical area.
