Location and classification
The Einzellage Wahrheit is located within the municipal and cadastral area of Oberheimbach in the wine-growing region Mittelrhein. It belongs to the Loreley area and to the Großlage Schloß Reichenstein. In the 2024 vineyard register of Rhineland-Palatinate, a total of 14.6 hectares of vineyard area were recorded.
Soils and grape varieties
The site is assigned to the Mittelrhein vineyards with quarternary slate loams derived from slate. A local producer describes the soil as Mittelrhein slate. For the Oberheimbacher Wahrheit, Riesling, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Silvaner and Kerner are documented.
Documented wines
Under the designation Oberheimbacher Wahrheit, dry wines made from Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder and Silvaner, as well as semi-dry or sweet Kerner are documented. In addition, there is a sweet Riesling Beerenauslese.
Cultivation and history
In 2020, a new Weißburgunder plot was planted directly next to a planting that is about 20 years old; in 2022, the new vines produced a small yield for the first time. The documented Weißburgunder from the 2024 vintage was matured in stainless-steel tank. The site name “In der Wahrheit” is documented for Oberheimbach in an official report on phylloxera control from the years 1911 and 1912.
