Location
The Turmberg, also Königshöfer Turmberg, is located in Königshofen, a district of Lauda-Königshofen in the wine-growing region Baden. The name refers to the Turmberg, on which a medieval watchtower has been preserved.
Wines and grape varieties
Documented bottlings from the Königshöfer Turmberg include Riesling, Silvaner, Kerner, Spätburgunder and Schwarzriesling. These include, among others, Riesling Kabinett, dry Silvaner Spätlese, finely off-dry Kerner Spätlese, as well as dry wines aged in wood made from Spätburgunder and Schwarzriesling.
Maturation and history
A documented Silvaner Spätlese from 2025 and a Kerner Spätlese from 2023 were fermented or matured in stainless-steel containers. Spätburgunder and Schwarzriesling from the Königshöfer Turmberg were matured in wood. In 1525, the Turmberg was the site of a battle during the German Peasants’ War.
