At Weingut Runkel, plantings on the calcareous soils of Steinböhl are documented for Franconian Blauburgunder, Spätburgunder, Grauer Burgunder and Silvaner.
History and wine example
In 1266 the site was documented under the name steinboehle; according to the regional wine authority, the name refers to soil quality. Its production included must fermentation, fermentation and lees storage in a small wooden cask, as well as maturation in stainless steel.
