Location and designation
The vineyard “Steig” is documented as “Eisinger Steig” and is located in the municipality of Eisingen in the German wine-growing region of Baden.
Historical development
For Eisingen, a viticultural cadastre and the land consolidation in the “Steigweinberg” have been documented from 1966 onwards. The procedures were completed in the early 1970s. The single-vineyard designations “Eisinger Steig” and “Klepberg” were entered in the official vineyard register in 1971.
Grape varieties and wine styles
Under the designation “Eisinger Steig”, wines made from Saint Laurent, Rivaner, Pinot gris, Riesling and Spätburgunder are documented. These include red wine, white wine and rosé made from Spätburgunder.
