Wine style and origin of the name

The wines show an integrated, buffered acidity and seem at first closed off, with notes of yellow fruit as well as hints of apple, pear and peach. Chalky and smoky characteristics accompany the initially lean, straight-ahead impression. With increasing ripeness, a more expressive fruit develops with a medium body. The name is associated with Oberstein Castle and the lords of Oberstein.
