Location and Classification
Schloßberg is a single-vineyard site in Brackenheim in the Württemberg wine-growing region, the Württembergisch Unterland area. The vineyards lie at the foot of the Heuchelberg above the Zabertal valley.
Topography and Soils
The documented plots are predominantly oriented to the south to south-west and lie at around 200 to 300 metres above sea level. The soils consist of Keuper formations, in particular gypsum Keuper and Lettenkeuper, which are frequently covered with loess loam.
Climate
Schloßberg belongs to a comparatively warm sub-area. The Heuchelberg provides protection from wind, while the slopes oriented to the south and south-west increase the amount of sunshine.
