At Sankt Georgenberg, Riesling, Weißburgunder and Spätburgunder are grown. The regional site description links wines from the loess-pararendzina soil with notes of yellow fruit, apple, peach, pear and citrus fruits, as well as with a slim to medium-strong structure, gentle acidity and a refreshing profile.
History of winegrowing
Winegrowing at Sankt Georgenberg has been documented up to the present day. A manuscript from Martinmas, 11 November 1511, documents Riesling cultivation in Pfeddersheim. The Georgenberg was associated with a Benedictine priory of Gorze; the name Georgenberg is preserved in a document dated 4 May 1316.
