Location and classification
The Rote Berg is located in the municipality of Ipsheim, in the Weimersheim area, in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim. The single-vineyard site belongs to the Großlage Burgberg in the area of Mittelfränkische Bocksbeutelstraße of the Franconian wine-growing region.
Topography and climate
The Weimersheimer Rote Berg is oriented to the south and lies on the eastern side of the Windsheimer basin. For the site, a mild, dry climate and strong sunshine exposure are described.
Soil and wine
The deep soil consists of loess clay. Silvaner is documented for the Rote Berg; a Silvaner from the 2023 vintage was vinified dry and matured in wooden casks.
