Location and classification
The Rosenberg is the single-vineyard site of Frankenwinheimer Rosenberg in the municipality of Frankenwinheim in Bavaria, Germany. In the official Bavarian wine sites directory, the site is assigned to the Volkacher Mainschleife area and the Kirschberg grand cru.
Topography and vineyard area
The vineyard has a documented south-facing exposure and a slope gradient of around 15 to 20 percent. The vineyard area was given as about 30 hectares in 1993 and 29 hectares in 2017.
Grape varieties and history
The most important grape varieties documented are Müller-Thurgau and Silvaner. In 1956, Georg Thaler replanted vines on the Rosenberg.
