Location and landscape
Reggenhag is a vineyard area in the south-west of Müllheim in Baden. The elevated part of the area is called Luginsland. From there, the view ranges over Müllheim to the Blauen, into the Upper Rhine Plain and to the Vosges.
Climate and soils
The vineyard area benefits from the mild climate of the Markgräflerland. Its calcareous soil is assigned to the Jurassic, more precisely to the Braun Jura.
Vines and wines
Reggenhag is considered the oldest vineyard area of Müllheim. Gutedel and Pinot varieties are grown there. A documented wine from the area is a dry white wine made from Gutedel; in addition, wines from Pinot varieties are produced.
History
The first documented mention of Reggenhag in the present, vineyard-area-specific information dates from the year 1327.
