History and Maturation

The name Montfort is attributed to the noble family of Boos von Waldeck and Montfort. A former route to their castle ran through the vineyard site. The documented 2022 vintage of the Montfort Spätburgunder Alte Reben was produced with a long maceration time and matured in barrique. The Montfort sparkling wines are produced through traditional bottle fermentation.
