The regional profile links Martinsberg wines with aromas of yellow fruits, apple, peach, pear and citrus fruits, as well as with a comparatively lean, refreshing structure, gentle acidity and medium body.
A documented Martinsberg Silvaner from the Gebert winery is a dry white wine. The 2021 and 2022 vintages are described as full-bodied and long-lasting.
Historical name
The site was documented in 1330 under the name by sant martins borne. The name is attributed to land holdings of the Siefersheim parish church, which was dedicated to Saint Martin. In the official vineyard directory of Rhineland-Palatinate, Martinsberg is listed under vineyard number 710509, with Siefersheim and Wonsheim as the associated municipalities.
