The site belongs to the Rheinhessen winegrowing region and comprises a planted area of 43.6 hectares.
Name and soil
The name of the vineyard refers to the nearby Rochuskapelle. The documented soil consists of loess over pararendzina. It is described as a calcareous, deep, light loam with argillaceous silt and good water retention available to plants, as well as good root penetration.
