Vineyard area and cultivation
In the 2024 wine-growing sites directory, Kahllay is listed with a planted area of 3.5 hectares. The site is cultivated by local winemakers from Niederfell, including Winzerhof Künster and Lubentiushof. The vineyard plots belonging to Lubentiushof are described as steep-slope sites of the Terrassenmosel and require manual cultivation.
Grape varieties and wine styles
From Kahllay, Riesling and Spätburgunder are documented. A Riesling from Winzerhof Künster is offered as a fruit-sweet Spätlese from Niederfell Kahllay. Lubentiushof produces a dry Spätburgunder Rosé from this site.
Historical reference
According to a farm consultation from 2019, Kahllay was the first wine-growing site that the Lubentiushof winemaker Andreas Barth farmed.
