Josephsberg is documented as the Durbacher Josephsberg, a single vineyard in Durbach in Baden. The vineyard plots associated with the winery Freiherr von Neveu cover 8.5 hectares and are located on steep vineyard sites. The soils consist of nutrient-poor, mineral-rich, weathered granite.

Josephsberg belongs to the documented vineyard plots of the winery Freiherr von Neveu. The winery traces its foundation back to 25 July 1828, when Franz Anton von Neveu acquired a farm and vineyard property from the heirs of the Freiherr von Riedt.
Cellar and Vinification
The winery had its press house rebuilt between 2000 and 2001 for gentle processing of the harvested grapes. This practice is connected with the winery’s Josephsberg vineyard plots.
