Johannesberg is a legally registered single-vineyard site in the wine-growing region Nahe. The wine site extends across Bad Sobernheim and Waldböckelheim.
Area and registration
The register of vineyards lists Johannesberg under registration number 511341. For 2024, 1.7 hectares are recorded in Bad Sobernheim and 3.1 hectares in Waldböckelheim, for a total of 4.8 hectares.
Sub-area and grape varieties
In Waldböckelheim, Johannesberg is located in the western vineyard area towards the municipal boundary with Bad Sobernheim. For the Steinhardt sub-area, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus and Riesling are documented.
Cultivation and designation
For the Steinhardt sub-area, cultivation is described using minimal vine pruning, which results in a higher and less strongly cut-back canopy wall. When using the site name for Qualitätswein, the name of a listed municipality or local district must be added.
